Atom String Quartet invites you to a unique Christmas carol concert, during which the artists will present material from their latest album “Christmas with Atom String Quartet”. Traditional Polish carols are brought to life here with jazz improvisation and the chamber-like sound that has become the quartet’s trademark.
The album was inspired by Witold Lutosławski’s masterful carol arrangements, which were reworked in a modern style by Krzysztof Lenczowski and enriched with the other musicians’ individual improvisations. The result is well-known carols sounding different — gentler, more intimate and attentive to musical detail — blending tradition with jazz improvisational freedom.
