The ensemble\u2019s name refers to Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k and his fascination with America. \u201cFrom the New World\u201d is not only the title of a symphony, but also a symbol of the meeting of cultures, idioms, and musical languages. The same spirit permeates the quartet\u2019s programme: inspirations drawn from American music, its rhythm and sense of space, intertwine with a European sensitivity to form and sound.<\/p>\n
In the background, one can also hear the aesthetic of Claus Ogerman\u2014a composer who was able to infuse the world of classical music with jazz harmony with remarkable elegance and subtlety.
