About the album
The programme of the Łomża Philharmonic's newest album consists entirely of new Polish music: works by three outstanding composers, varied yet in some sense stylistically akin. The Polish Suite was commissioned by the orchestra and pulses with rhythms drawn from Polish folk music, interwoven with jazz improvisations. Venedian Concerto is somewhat more restrained in expression, giving the soloist room to display virtuosity and a sensitivity to colour. Rhythm Games is music that throbs with rhythm, full of fierce motifs and sharp harmonies. An undoubted asset of the release is the participation of five superb soloists, known among other things for numerous premieres of contemporary music.
