The Polish Suite

In his recent work – The Polish Suite for violin, flute, and chamber orchestra, Smoczyński seamlessly connects with his musical origins, reminiscent of his time performing in a folk ensemble. Each movement bears the names of Polish dances (Lasowiak, Polonaise, Kujawiak, Oberek), yet the composition also weaves in spontaneous, improvised passages and even features a spirited bolero. The premiere of the Suite garnered the prestigious Grand Prix at the 2022 International "Musical Eagles" Competition.
